This week was a huge leap forward for one song that I've been working. Adam Judd helped me a great deal to analyze the theory and different arrangements behind the song's progression, and doing so it opened an itinerary of ideas for making the work more catchy and melodically interesting. Due to both of these components, I believe this song to be one of my strongest, and am looking very forward to arranging the different instruments that will play in it. I also worked a little on my intro piece, which I hope to be a three piece vocal chant that would be somewhat in the style of church music. I have also rewritten many of the lyrics belonging to the old songs, and I personally feel that they have become more thought inducing because of this.
The only problem I am having with my project so far is that I cannot decide whether the finished product should be a recording of the songs or if it should be a one time performance that perhaps could be recorded. I feel that a performance could be much more interesting and expressive of the songs than a recording, but at the same time I would have to find several performers and vocalists for the performance if I chose that option. I will have to start recruiting performers now and teach them the music throughout the year.
I envision though that the songs could be performed in the court theatre where the acoustics and the number of seats could allow for a convenient private showcase.
