This week i focused mainly on my rubric. I typed up various paragraphs for the various outcomes, and i wrote a description of my project. I continued with my general research, and printed a number of articles that i pasted into my process folio. I also read and learned about a newly created wind farm on Wolfe Island in Ontario in Canada. The wind project was built and started June 29, 2009. I am thinking about planning a trip to visit the wind farm. This upcoming week i am planning to finish my rubric, get an outside consultant, and read more about this canadian wind farm so i can plan a trip to visit it.
This past week i focused on researching general information about wind farms and the importance of switching to alternative energy sources. I printed out a number of articles, read them, and took notes on them, just so i could obtain a general background about my topic. I also watched the movie "An Inconvenient Truth," by Algore. The movie was a documentary on global warming and how quickly it is effecting our planet in a negative way. I took notes on the movie and put them in my process folio. This week i plan on continuing to to do general research so i can get a good grasp on my topic, and i want to start thinking about what type of website program i will use to construct my website.
For my senior project i am going to create a website that focus's on the area of sustainability, specifically wind energy and wind farms. I want to construct a website that will raise awareness for the need to switch to greener technology. I want my website to educate people about the importance of switching to safer energy sources such as wind energy. The website will explain why we need to focus on uses alternative energy sources due to pollution from green house gases and fossil fuels. I am hoping to convince people that we need to make changes in order to have a healthier life style.
