As of now I am basically just tying up loose ends on my website. I am working on finishing up the “local focus” section of my site, the myth vs. fact section, and my reflection. I finished editing the video that I made while I was visiting Wolfe island, and I met with Urban and uploaded the video to my website. He also helped me upload another informative video to my site that has to do with wind energy on long island. I also found a royalty free website where I found pictures of wind turbines and wind farms that I uploaded to my website. I also emailed my outside consultant and sent him parts of the writing sections I have done so I can get feedback from him.Over the break I am going to continue to make small edits to the writing I have done and finish my works cited.
This week I got a lot done. My dad and i traveled up to kingston ontario to visit the wolfe island wind project which has been operating since last june. we spent two days driving around the island which includes 86 running wind turbines. i took a number of pictures that i will upload to my website and we also recorded 30 minutes worth of footage that includes a full documentation that will be included in my website. I had to opportunity to visit the maintenance and operation center where they monitor the wind turbines. i met with Trudy de Ruiter who runs the office at the maintenance and control center of the wolfe island wind project and she gave me some general information about the wind farm and also explained the building process of the wind farm which she personally documented photographically ( this interview/conversation was video taped and will be featured on my website). I also was able to meet with mike jablonicky who is the site supervisor of the wind farm and he explained how they monitor and maintain the turbines in operation and he also answered some general questions that i had about wind farms and wind energy (this will also be featured on my website). My trip to ontario overall educated me significantly about my topic, was very informative, and supported my initial impression about wind energy which is that the controversy over wind turbines is greatly exaggerated
This week i had a follow up meeting with kenny about the media aspect of my senior project. I brought in the video camera i am planning to use to record parts of my trip and the wind farms. he gave me some tips on how to video tape that i will use when i am on my trip. I am planning on going to wolf island the monday we get back from thanksgiving break. I researched the island and plan on booking a tour of the wind farms. I have also started an outline for my website and i have started writing some of the short essays i will include in my website. I have also researched statistics and graphs that i will include in my website. During my vacation i plan to continue to write parts of my website and continue to construct my product.
This week i got a couple of different things done. In ms. Costello's class, i did a 10 minute presentation on alternative energy and wind farms, which gave me an idea of what i will do for my main senior project presentation in January. I also met with kenny on tuesday and talked to him about helping me edit any video clips i take when i visit the wind farm in canada, which i will eventually upload onto my website. i am planning on visiting wolf island the monday and tuesday after thanksgiving after i return from vacation. I also have been in touch with my outside consultant who emailed me some important links to websites that has informative information that i read, and he gave me some ideas to consider for my website. I emailed Urban about meeting with me next week to follow up on the program i am using for my website, and i am planning on bringing the video camera i plan on bringing to wolf island to show to kenny. I also plan on starting to write up some things for my website.
For the past two weeks i have been doing very very intense research because i am going to start composing my write ups for my website. I have been reading article after article regarding the importance of switching to alternative energy sources, and wind farms. I have also been playing around with the program i am going to use to create my website so when it comes time to actually create it i will already know how to navigate the program easily. I have also made an informative powerpoint regarding wind energy and wind farms for a science project that helped me start the process of creating my product and helped me get the feel of putting information on my topic together to form a product. I printed the powerpoint and put it in my process folio. I have not met with my outside consultant yet so this week i want to work on setting up a meeting. I am also planning on going to Wolf Island in canada either next week or the week after to visit a working wind farm. I also want to follow up with Urban to talk a little bit more about the program i am using for my website.

This week i met with Urban and finally decided on a website program i am going to use to construct my website. It is a program that is already on our Macbook computers. I spent time playing around with the program so i know how to use it and so it will be easy to design once i have completed all of my research. I also found another person that works in the field of wind energy and wind power who is willing to look over my project with me and give me feedback on my ideas. This week i plan on continuing my research and try to plan my trip to the working wind farm in Canada. I also want to start composing my research writings.

I am still trying to figure out what type of program i want to use to construct my website. I also continued to read about Wolfe Island, which is a wind farm in Canada that was just built this past June. I am going to visit the wind farm within the next couple of weeks. This up coming week I am going to figure out what program i will use for my website so i can start to work on my website. I am also going to work on my progress report that is due this coming wednesday.
