Gavin Michne - Senior Project

Getting close...
With the last week here and break coming up I'm getting close to finished with my product, however in order to get all the media (images, video etc.) on the site I'll need to work over break with my parents studio. I should be done before breaks end

I've been sick for a few weeks with a high fever, so I'm pretty behind on work. Been trying to catch up over Thanksgiving break but work has been slow due to a lot of issues with family and missing my bag which had a lot of my research and things including laptop and process book. I got a loaner and bought a new process folio in case it isn't returned.

So far I've been working on the written portion of my website, and including notes for where I will later include media (Images, Audio, Video etc)

A few pages written so far, continuing work on my Tala description and About Me sections today.

Update:

 Been a bit lacking in Project work this week as I've had a lot of assignments and tests as well as some assignments I've had to make up. Added more to the website and I plan to continue the site over the weekend and add a lot more text, after that I plan on working on my video and imagery to be added to the site.

    Rubric corrections are done now and just doing some little touch ups.

This week I began work on my final product. No information has been written in yet but the website is set up and I've began work on the template. I met with my mentor a few times this week and did more overall research on Tala over the internet. I still haven't heard back from my outside consultant, but the project is coming along nicely.

Update--

Finished deciding on Final Product, Will be a website with instructional videos + documents giving a lesson on tala for beginning students. Met with both mentors and found an outside consultant, he studied tala and has a lot of info on it but may not be in contact very often.

Update-

Final Product; First decision: 

My final product will include an ethnography essay on Raga/Tala, focused mainly on southern India. I'll also take the southern India M-Term and perhaps take the project further after sen. Presentations. Along with my essay I will include a lesson plan on the basics of Raga/Tala and teach a middle school class on the Ross campus and use a recording of it as a final product.

Senior Proj.

For my sen. project I'm doing a study on the Indian Tala and Raga techniques in music. Also I'm studying Indian and other world music as a whole. I'm not so sure on what my final product is going to end up being, but I'm thinking I may record myself and some others demonstrating the technique.
