After meeting with my mentor I spoke to my out side consultant and asked him for help. I had told him that i was thinking for my project to take a "trainee" and that my mentor had told me that he thought it was a better idea then using myself as an example. However my outside consultant thinks that I should use myself as an example of how good exercise and proper dieting can keep you healthy and in good shape. I am feeling a bit uncomfortable with my senior project because I feel like i don't really know what I am "doing" for my project. I have been studying exercise and and diets that go along with it but i still feel uneasy about my product. In the mean time i will continue to read about my topic and apply it.
For my senior project I have been studying fitness and ways to get in shape. I will be taking a course on personal training, this way I can be taught by professionals and gain a better understanding more about fitness and how to use all the equipment. Also this will help me in the future when I go to take my personal training test. I want to use everything I have learned to teach a class at school and try to motivate people to change the diets and exercise habits. I am still deciding weather I should use myself as an example or take in a trainee.
Today I called the NCSF to see if I could convince them to allow me to take my certification test even though I was to young. I told them that I would have no problem taking the test and having them rip it up after getting my results. They told me they would contact me to tell me if that was acceptable or not. I got a phone call soon after and was told that they could not accommodate me, but that I could still take there course without being 18. I met with my mentor and went over my senior project and started to brain storm some new ideas.
